Memory Lane – Spring 2014
There is some delightfully dreamy music an offer in Guild’s The Golden Age of Light Music CD My Dream Is Yours. Two alumni from the swing band era, Paul Weston and Robert Farnon, both have a starring role; the former with gorgeous versions of Sleepy Time Gal and If I Could Be With You, and the latter with top quality versions of the standards Stardust and Where Or When. Some newcomers to the Guild roster of orchestra leaders also impress, Max Jaffa with You’ve Done Something To My Heart and Frenchman Armand Bernard with Now And Forever. Many of Guild’s ‘heavyweight’ orchestras are also present to add their talents to a very enjoyable feast of music.
